A two-person exhibition of artwork from Caroline Hatfield and Kat Spears

Daylighting is an exploration of the hidden ecological and emotional undercurrents beneath our paved-over lives, drawing inspiration from the process of uncovering buried waterways. Through Caroline Hatfield’s sculptural forms and Kat Spears’ paintings, the exhibition reveals tensions between presence and absence, self and environment, and the visible and unseen.

Echoes of the Archive

Reimagining Advertisements through an Artistic Lens

Exhibition attendees are invited to experience history in a new light. Drawing from the collections of The Daily News Journal and The Murfreesboro Union at the Rutherford County Archives, artists transform vintage advertisements into powerful new narratives through painting, fiber arts, mixed media, and video installations. Frank Baugh, Chrissy Crater, Kelly Herbert, Devin Lamp, Victoria Richardson, and Hannah Weakley recontextualize archival materials to reveal new meanings and examine everyday imagery and advertising as reflections of shifting ideas of identity, community, and cultural values.
